Sunflowers aren’t just for the garden anymore! Here at Lake Michigan Farms, all of our crops are grown by hand with CERTIFIED NON-GMO, ORGANIC SEEDS using 100% Organic practices. Freshly harvested Sun Shoots (Sunflower Microgreens) are cultivated right here on Beaver Island and available year-round. By capturing these microgreen seedlings in the early stages of growth, you get even more vitamin and mineral value from the plant.

Flavor Profile: Think of a toasted Macadamia Nut mixed with Butter Lettuce.

Color/Texture: Leafy Green tops that are hearty but tender. Stems are a Light Powder Green with a refreshing crisp crunch.

Nutrition: Sunflower shoots (microgreens) are loaded with an enormous amount of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin E for skin elasticity. B-Complex Vitamins (All the B’s with numbers and fancy names) that are crucial for red blood cells and help carry oxygen throughout the body. These plants are a vegetarian/vegan’s new best friend. Minerals such as iron, magnesium and potassium as well as a rich source of protein and fiber.
