It’s not everyday you can get sprouts of any kind in our community…actually, it’s never. With the uncertainties of weather patterns and restrictions with transportation, the Winter months leave us with slim pickin’s on the fresh food front. Here at Lake Michigan Farms we’ve set out to change that! Every week we make it a point to engage with residents and ask what YOU want to eat fresh off the farm. Sprouts topped the list by a long shot, so we found a way to make it happen!

Flavor Profile: Mild nuttiness with notes of lettuce mixed with refreshing young peas

Color/Texture: Delicate White stems that are refreshingly crisp and juicy. Tiny, tender light green leaves. Best eaten raw or in smoothies

Nutrients: Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Zinc and Vitamin C to protect immune function and a whole boat load of Vitamin K for helping wounds heal, strengthening bones and teeth
